1995 至 2011 年間，林谷珍策劃、製作並主持導聆 22 場《中國竹笛名家名曲》，系統邀集兩岸及海外笛壇名家來台。
現場之外，團隊同步錄音、錄影、訪談、整理曲譜與出版，使演奏家的音色、技法與口述經驗能在音樂會之後繼續被使用。
從典藏走向新書
《玉笛飛聲》把一段笛壇記憶帶回曲譜與聲音之間。
1998 年台北《玉笛飛聲》專場、2000 年曲譜彙編初版、2003 年上海笛藝四十五週年回顧展，以及 2026 年再版所整理的訪談與演奏影像，形成一條可閱讀、可聆聽的線索。

如何閱讀這二十二場
它不是二十二個孤立節目，而是一條逐步形成的策展路線。
2009 年第 20 場節目單保存了林谷珍對系列起源的回顧：前兩場源於友人之間的協助，第三場俞遜發《玉笛飛聲》成功後，長期系列才逐漸成形。
1995—1999・從個別專場到系列
杜如松、李鎮、俞遜發與詹永明的四場專題，建立人物專場、導聆與影音保存的基本方法。
2000—2006・流派、世代與作品並置
趙松庭、陸春齡、胡結續、張維良、馬迪等不同地域與世代的笛家相繼來台，節目逐步形成可比較的近代笛壇圖景。
2007—2011・延伸與回望
川、江南、草原、長安等聲音脈絡持續展開，也透過紀念、回顧與出版整理前輩留下的作品和演奏觀念。
前五場・系列如何成形
從節目名稱、場館與後續出版，看見一個計畫逐步長成。
1995・《笛聲吹向水雲間》
杜如松專場是系列起點。後續 CD 以《笛聲吹向雲水間》之名出版，兩個題名應依音樂會與出版品各自保留。
1997・《笛韻唱心聲》
李鎮專場於 5 月 10 日在國家兩廳院演奏廳舉行，提醒我們不應把 22 場全部概括成「國家音樂廳演出」。
1998・《玉笛飛聲》
俞遜發專場的成功被林谷珍視為系列轉折點；之後人物訪談、回顧展與影音出版持續深化。
1999・《玉樹臨風笛裡情》
詹永明專場後由琴園發行出版品，並於 2001 年入圍第 12 屆金曲獎最佳演奏人獎。
2000・《笛藝春秋》
趙松庭、戴亞與杜如松同台，讓宗師、成熟演奏家與不同地域傳承在一場節目中互相參照。
